Bored piles are necessary for each bridge, as they are specially designed to support heavily loaded structures. The flow chart for bored pile work is outlined below:1. Surveyors set out the exact location of the piles.2. A flight auger mounted on a boring rig initiates the boring process.3. A temporary casing is inserted if the ground shows signs of collapse.4. Boring continues with an auger or boring bucket, depending on soil conditions, until the design depth is reached.5. The base of the borehole is cleaned using a cleaning bucket.6. The reinforcement cage is lowered into the borehole, which is partially filled with water or drilling fluid.7. A tremie pipe is inserted to the bottom of the borehole, and vermiculite is poured in to form a plug. 8. Concrete is discharged through the tremie pipe, displacing the water from beneath.9. The pile is officially completed.

Using my spare time to explore and study SQL during work. It is quite challenging for me since I have no prior experience. However, I always remind myself that if you don't try, you won't know the outcome. Indeed, SQL is relatively easy once you understand the specific format you need to follow. Fundamentally, three words "SELECT", "FROM", and "WHERE" will be used in the SQL. Sometimes, it can be difficult because every detail matters—a single character can affect the entire query. However, it is the coolest part ever and I enjoy it! #SQL #GOOGLEANALYTICS #CHALLENGING

First of all, I would like to thank CCCC for organizing the technology transfer program on TBM construction technology with us at ECRL Section 7. Since the Genting Tunnel (one of the ECRL tunnels) uses the TBM method, we had the opportunity to discuss this method with CCCC. The presentation covered the project overview, TBM mitigation design for the Genting Tunnel, construction process, construction progress, and development direction viewpoints.#TBM #GENTINGTUNNEL #ECRL

Cleaning the pile base is one of the crucial steps in the boring process. Have you ever wondered how pile base cleaning is performed? Typically, most of the mud and soil is removed from the borehole base using a cleaning bucket attached to the Kelly bar of the boring rig. However, some debris may remain inside the borehole. To address this, polymer slurry is poured into the borehole. The fresh polymer is pumped in via the mud pump, replacing the existing polymer, while the drilling slag flows out with the displaced polymer.***The cleanliness of the borehole bottom is determined by dipping a measuring tape into the borehole.

Last year, my company offered me the opportunity to attend the 'AESP Training for Confined Space' conducted by CCCC at Section 7 of the ECRL. Working in confined spaces is dangerous and requires workers to possess the necessary skills and knowledge to operate safely. A tragic incident in 2019 in Saudi Arabia, where a lack of knowledge led to multiple fatalities in a confined space, underscores the risks involved. Confined spaces can quickly become life-threatening, which is why workers, especially those involved in tunnel construction along the ECRL line, are required to complete the course and obtain the necessary license. The training includes both theoretical and practical lessons. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to ECRL for enriching my knowledge.#AESP #safetyfirst #ECRL

Did you know that there is a 'drilling fluid test' for the piles? After the position of the pile is confirmed, a steel casing is installed using a hydraulic vibration hammer. The soil inside the casing is then excavated using the rotary drilling bar and auger/bucket method. The borehole is filled with water or drilling fluid before advancing the drilling process below the bottom of the casing. The parameter is stated in the second diagram. #drillingfluidtest #boredpiles #ECRL

I learned the importance of data transformation from the Google Analytics course 😁 . Data transformation is the process of changing the data’s format, structure, or values. As data analysts, we may need to transform data to make it easier to analyze. Data transformation usually involves:a. Adding, copying, or replicating datab. Deleting fields or recordsc. Standardizing the names of variablesd. Renaming, moving, or combining columns in a databasee. Joining one set of data with anotherf. Saving a file in a different format (such as .csv file)

I have completed the third module, 'Prepare Data for Exploration.' Data preparation is the most fundamental step in the field of data analytics—without data, analysis cannot occur. Generally, data can be collected in two ways: manually (via Google Forms) or from external sources (second-party or third-party). Additionally, the sample size and time frame for the data should be carefully chosen.

Three types of drilling buckets which will be used for drilling earth in the ECRL line:1. Auger bucket - suitable for soft soil2. Core barrel bucket - suitable for hard layers of soil (limestone, sandstone, granite)c. Clam drilling bucket - for cleaning the bore hole and lift up the debris of limestone, sandstone, or granite, and also the mud from the bore hole.

I have completed the second module, 'Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions.' Asking questions can help us find solutions and identify business potential. For example, if you are considering selling beverages, you should ask yourself why you want to sell them, where the most suitable locations are, and which places have the highest population. In the module, I learned that there are six common problem types that data analysts work with: making predictions, categorizing things spotting abnormal, identifying themes, discovering connections, and finding trends. Besides, I also learned that the questions shall use SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action-Oriented, Relevant, and Time-Bound) format. #askquestion #SMART
