The IATP mission is to provide Illinoisans of all ages with disabilities and health conditions greater access to assistive technology (AT) devices and services so that they may enhance their independence and participation in all aspects of life. To achieve this, we offer numerous assistive technology programs and services to learn about and try AT devices. We help individuals obtain AT through our customized 3D printing fabrication program and AT reuse program. We provide training, technical assistance, and a variety of contracted services including professional AT evaluations. We have partnerships with other agencies to help meet the AT needs of the individuals they serve.

The Center for Assistive Technology Act Data Assistance provides technical assistance and support for State and Territory Assistive Technology (AT) Programs for collection, reporting, analysis and use of data reported under Section 4 of the AT Act. State AT programs focus on improving the provision of AT through comprehensive, statewide programs that are consumer responsive. The goal is to increase access to and acquisition of AT. Programs serve people with all types of disabilities, of all ages, in all environments. CATADA is collaborative project between the Institute for Community Inclusion at UMass Boston, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and the Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP).
